Competing in three Winter Olympics, he earned his best finish of tenth in the two-man event at Salt Lake City in 2002.Johnston also finished fifth in the four-man event at the 2007 FIBT World Championships in St. Moritz.Johnston's brother, Karl, is a crewman in the event.
